John Abraham Beck was born near Dundee, November 24, 1904 and died at his home near Stanley February 22, 1913, after a very brief illness. He was a bright, promising boy, just beginning to inspire hope in the hearts of his fond parents but the death angel called before he had gone out to met trials and temptations of life. It may be said of him,
He is not, for God has taken him. The last services took place Monday, February 24, in the Union church, conducted by Rev. H. Foote of Hazleton. The pastor of the church, Rev. Peck also spoke comforting words to the bereaved parents and friends. Interment took place in the Otsego cemetery. The family who have since moved from our community to Independence have the sympathy of their many friends in this , their sad bereavement.
