Neva A. Arend, 80, of Wissota Lakeside Nursing Home, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, August 16, (1990), at the nursing home of natural causes.

She was born August 6, 1910, in Clermont, the daughter of William and Roseana Wells Gutcher. She married Arthur Arend on October 2, 1940, in Waterloo. He died June 16, 1966.

She and her husband owned and operated Roma Jane’s Grocery Store in Waterloo for 28 years, retiring in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Roma Arend of Menomonie, Wisconsin; a sister, Rose Aston of Ardmore, Oklahoma, and a brother, Gerald Gutcher of Clermont. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chris and Clayton Gutcher, and a sister, Wilma Gutcher.

Services will be Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church due to remodeling at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
