Alice Bell Gregory (1891- 1961)

Alice Isabel Bell was born February 13, 1891, in Fort William Ontario, Canada, daughter of Alice Emerton Bell and James H. Bell.

The family moved to Oelwein in 1896. In 1909 she was married to Guy Gregory and the couple had two children, Mrs. Norman Smith of Oelwein and James C. Gregory who preceded her in death in 1928. She was also preceded in death by her husband Guy in 1951.

Mrs. Gregory died of a sudden heart attack on February 14th at Mercy Hospital after having been in failing health for a number of years.

Services were conducted at the Brant Funeral Home by the Rev. W. D. Scott of the Baptist church Friday, February 17th at 2 p.m.. Burial was at Otsego cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter Mrs. Norman Smith of Oelwein, a brother James H. Bell of McGregor and four sisters, Mrs. J. R. Lees of Crescent City, California, Mrs. Grace Piper of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Fred Willard of Waterloo and Mrs. W. P. Carver of Oelwein.
