Funeral services for Elmer Hunsberger were held Monday, December 20, 1982 at 1:30 p.m. at the Elgin Lutheran Church. The Reverend Duane Berg officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Elgin Cemetery.

Elmer Kay Hunsberger, son of Max and Dinah (Kirkeberg) Hunsberger, was born December 9, 1922 at Elgin, Iowa. He passed away December 18, 1982 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville.

He was baptized into the Christian faith on June 15, 1924 at St. John Methodist Church, Elgin by the Reverend Butler.

At the age of seven, Elmer became ill and has been in poor health since then and has been cared for by his mother. In 1972 Elmer and his mother moved to the Town and Country Trailer Court in Postville.

He is preceded in death by his father and a sister, Edna.

Surviving are his mother, a sister, Maxine Meyer of Postville, one niece and four nephews.
