ELGIN YOUTH DIES IN CRASH

Anthony Butikofer, 18, of Elgin was killed Sunday in a car-motorcycle accident on Iowa Highway 172 near the Clermont Airport.

According to the Iowa Highway Patrol, Butikofer's motorcycle was in a collision with a car driven by Paul Smith, 38, of Elgin as Smith was making a left turn into the airport.

Smith was uninjured and no charges were filed.

Butikofer, who was to graduate Tuesday from Valley High School near Elgin, was dead on arrival at the Postville Hospital.
