HENRY LOUIS SCHWEINEFUS

Hold Rites For H. Schweinefus

Funeral services for Henry L. Schweinefus, 84, were held Monday, May 26, 1980 at 10:30 at the West Clermont Lutheran Church in Clermont. The Reverend Allan J. Stoa officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Castalia, Schutte Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Henry Louis Schweinefus, son of Chris and Martha (Arndt) Schweinefus, was born September 16, 1895 in Dover Township, Fayette County, Iowa. He died May 22, 1980 at Community Memorial Hospital, Postville.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Eldorado, Iowa. November 26, 1919 he was united in marriage to Myrtle Oakland at the Stavanger Lutheran Church south of Ossian. They farmed near Castalia for fifteen years, moving to Clermont in 1936, where he was employed as a county road maintainer operator. When he retired at the age of 65, he became janitor for the Clermont School for six years.

Preceding him in death are a daughter, Joan, in infancy; a granddaughter, Anna Marie Brehm; three brothers, Frank, Charles and Emil; and two sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. William Walsh) and Bertha, (Mrs. Henry Larson).

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. William (Marcella) Brehm, of Rushville, Ill.; Mrs. Clarence (C. Lois) Jellings of Clinton, Iowa; two foster children, Marvin Larson of West Union, and Mrs. June Hofer of Napa, Calif.; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
