RANDALIA - Funeral services for Deane Paul Davis will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, at the United Methodist Church in Randalia, with the Rev. Bruce Bane officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Fayette. Friends may call from 2 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home, Fayette, and after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Mr. Davis, 80, died of cancer Tuesday morning, Dec. 2, 1997, at his rural farm home.
He was born July 14, 1917, in Randalia, the son of Frank S. and Blanche Moulton Davis. He graduated from Randalia High School in 1935. On Feb. 9, 1941, he married Mary Dearhammer in Oelwein. Mr. Davis farmed the farm where he was born. He was a longtime member of the Farm Bureau and had served on the Randalia School Board, the West Central School Board, the Randalia Creamery Board and the Grandview Cemetery Board. He was active in the Randalia United Methodist Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Mardene (Robert) Gage of West Union, and Marjorie (David) Bunn of Maynard; one son, Douglas (Patricia) of Chicago; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marian (Arthur) Sensor of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Earl, Ralph and Howard.
