FROM FAYETTE COUNTY

Sad Accident-An Estimable Citizen
Killed-Tumbling Rods not Boxed

Special Correspondence of the Dubuque Times, FAYETTE, Sept. 5.

On Friday last Mr. Samuel Morley, a citizen of this county, living about three miles east of Bush Creek, was almost instantly killed by being caught on the tumbling rod of a threshing machine. He was a wealthy farmer and good citizen, and leaves a family to mourn his untimely death. Threshing machine are pretty generally run without complying with the statute in such cases made and provided. Would it not be well to punish a few of their owners? The rest might take warning.
