Schlatter, Jacob, farmer, Section 16; PO West Union; born Sept. 8, 1821 in Germany; in 1850 came to Crawford Co., Ohio; in 1856 came to his present farm; owns 286 acres valued at $15 per acre. Married Christina Saurbacker in September, 1853; she was born April 3, 1829 in Germany; had thirteen children, eleven living --- John, Katie, Christina, Jacob, Lena, Semore, Susan, William, Carolina, Mary and Annie. He is a member of the Lutheran Church; she is a member of the Dutch Reformed Church.
