Conner, Matthew, of the firm of Conner & Baldwin, proprietors of Elgin Livery Stable; born in Hamilton Co., Indiana, Nov 8, 1835; removed to Greene Co., Wisconsin in 1838; came to this township in 1854; he has been engaged in farming most of the time since he came here. He married Amelia E. Baldwin; she was born in New York; they have two adopted children --- Matthew Leroy and Laura Ettie. Mr. C. is the owner of several fine stallion --- Norman, Clydesdale, French, and Morgan stock.
