Gruver, John A., Justice of the Peace, Lutra; PO Elgin; was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Jan. 4, 1826; removed to Wayne Co., Ohio in 1832; resided there until 1852 when he came to West Union, this county. He married Elizabeth Dorland Jan. 1, 1846; she was born in Rowsburg, Ohio, April 12, 1827; they have had nine children; lost one son and two daughters --- Albert, Minnie J., and Emma; the living are William J., Martha A., Allen J., Charlie H., Ulysses Grant and Burton C. Mr. And Mrs. Gruver are members of the M. E. Church.
