RAFFERTY, Nicholas, far., Sec. 12; P. O. Clermont; born in Ireland 1830; came to this country and New Jersey in 1847; to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1848; to Kentucky in 1849; to Iowa and Clayton Co. in 1863; on his present farm in 1869. Married in 1870 to Miss Annie Fitzsimmons, from Fayette Co., they have one child - William J., born March 16, 1876. He has 240 acres of land, valued at $8,000. In politics, a Democrat; in religion, Catholic.
