SOUTH, A. C., farmer, Sec. 16; was born May 7, 1808, in New Jersey; in 1828 came to Pennsylvania; in 1831 came to Illinois; in 1833 came to Wisconsin, and in 1849 came to West Union; he owns 180 acres of land valued at $40 per acre. Married Anceline Billings Jan. 9, 1853. She was born in 1830 in Utica, N. Y., and died Jan 9, 1875; had eleven children, five living - Emma C., Charles D., John M., A. Lincoln and Iola. He is a Republican. Has been deputy sheriff two terms.
