HOYT, Daniel M., farmer, Sec. 16; born Aug. 4, 1829, in Magog, Canada East; in 1848 came to Dorchester, Mass.; in 1849 went to California; in 1853 returned to Massachusetts;in 1854 came to Fayette County. Owns 160 acres of land valued at $40 per acre. Married Lydia W. Merry Sept. 25, 1854; she was born in 1834 in Magog, Canada East; had eight children - six are living: Hattie C., Nora D., Winton F., Charlie W., Frank and Mary P. Mrs. H. is a member of the M. E. Church.
