FARR, L. L., Sheriff; was born May 2, 1839, in DeKalb Co., Ill.; in October, 1861, came to Fayette Co., and engaged in farming until his election for Sheriff in 1877. Married Catharine Gabel Jan. 3, 1858; she was born March 31, 1838, in New York; have three children - Genia, born Oct. 16, 1859; Renia, born March 10, 1868; Helen, born Jan. 1, 1874. He is a Republican. Enlisted, in 1862, in Co. C, 6th I. V. C., served three years; his regiment was ordered to the Western frontier and remained there three years.
