Thompson, Rufus A., Blacksmith, Section 32 (Eden township); P. O. Bethel; born in Michigan in 1837. Married Elizabeth Learn in 1863; she was born in Pennsylvania in 1844; have four children ---- Jacob C., James C., Matilda and William; came to this county in 1859, and settled in Auburn, where he owns forty acres of land, and where he lived until 1876, when he settled in the villiage of Alpha. Formed co-partnership with G. W. Tabor in blacksmithing and repairing.
