Higbee, Charles, Section 34 (Oran township); PO Fairbanks; born in Onondaga Co., NY, in 1827; he left there and located in Chautauqua Co., NY, in 1828, with his parents; and in this county in 1857. He married Miss Flora Smith in 1851; she was born in Chautauqua Co., NY, in 1831; they have three children --- Wallace M., born Aug. 17, 1856; Lawrence C., born in Jan, 1861; Linnie A., born Sept. 30, 1865. Mrs. Higbee is a Free-Will Baptist. He is a Nationalist in politics; has been School Director two years, Road Commissioner two years. He owns 268 2/3 acres of land, upon which he has erected the finest and most tasty residence in the township, or, as a farmhouse, in the county.
