May, Robert, farmer, Section 9; PO Illyria; was born on the ocean, near the Cape of Good Hope, Oct. 15, 1820; came to this county in 1855. Has 250 acres of land, valued at $5,000. Married Martha Alcorn in 1849; born in Pennsylvania in 1828; mother of nine children --- William H., Edward O., Elizabeth J., Mary Ann, John, Ellen, Lucinda, David and Inez.
