Ives, A., farmer, Section 7; PO Bethel; owns 192 acres of land, valued at $20 per acre; born in Troy, New York, Oct. 31, 1836; came to Iowa in 1856 from Walworth Co., Wisconsin . Married L. C. Perkins in 1855; she was born in Rochester, New York, in 1835. Mr. A.* enlisted in 1862 in Co. F, 38th I.V.I. and was discharged in 1865; was in all the battles that the regiment participated in. They have had seven children, six are living --- Fred A., C. C., Frank, A. L. G., Alman and Norman. Mr. A. and wife both members of the M. E. Church.
