Fosket, J. H., farmer and stock raiser, Section 18; PO Maynard; born in Wayne Co., New York, Feb. 22, 1830; has 160 acres of land, valued at $4,000; came to this county in 1855. Married Maria Rich in 1854; born in Franklin Co., New York, Feb. 17, 1836; has one adopted daughter -- Carrie, born June 25, 1860. Emigrated from New York when he was 8 years old, to Cook Co., Illinois; was twenty-eight miles from the city at that time, there were but three houses between where he lived and the city, at that time, the population of Chicago was not more than three thousand; from there he came to this county. Mr. F. take a great interest in the dairy business and has an interest in the one at Maynard, the first one started in the county.
