Mitchell, Elizabeth, Mrs., Section 13 and 14; PO West Union; widow of Joseph Mitchell; he was born in February, 1827 in Germany; died Jan. 25, 1876; she was born Aug. 5, 1823 in Switzerland; in 1855 came to Fayette Co. and to their present farm in 1861; owns 186 acres, valued at $20 per acre. They were married in October, 1857; her maiden name was Beer; had four children by a former marriage, three living --- Elizabeth, Mary and Magdalena; have three children by second marriage -- Joseph, Lena and Sarah.
