Alexander, Jno. T., blacksmith; PO Lutra; born in Gossport township, Owen County, Indiana, Sept. 21, 1828; came to Independence, Iowa, seven years ago; came to Lutra in 1876. Married Elizabeth Lewis March 11, 1850; she was born in Erie County, New York; the have had four children, lost two sons -- Volney and Willie; the living are Delia Adelle, born Jan 16, 1852 and Charley B., born Jan 31, 1856.
