Hiltbrunner, J., dealer in stoves, tinware, etc., Elgin; born in Switzerland May 22, 1822; came to America in April 1867. Married Mary Riesen Oct. 11, 1850; she was born in Switzerland July 1, 1829; they have had nine children and lost seven; one died in infancy; the following of the others that have died --- John, Christian, Rudolph, Mary, Mary (two the same name), and Gotfried; the only ones now living are Rosa and Joel. Mr. And Mrs. Hiltbrunner are members of the Baptist Church.
