MINCHIN, Clinton B., dealer in clothing, dry goods &c., Bank Block, Vine st.; born in Prophetstown, Whiteside Co., Ill., June 6, 1843. Oct. 6, 1861, he enlisted in Co. K, 34th I. V. I., and was in nearly all the engagements that the regiment participated in; mustered out in Aug. 1865; after leaving the army he engaged in the mercantile business at Lyons, Iowa, where he remained until he removed to West Union in Aug., 1875. He married Aggie Buell Oct. 20, 1869; she was born at St. Catherines, Iowa.
