Howe, William, farmer, Section 30 (Auburn township); PO Eden; born in England in 1812. Married Elizabeth Russell in 1834; she was born in England 1814; have seven children -- Susan, William, John, Charles, Betsy, Jane and George; lost three children -- James, Annie and Mary. Left England in 1838 and settled in New Jersey, where he lived three years, when he removed to Ohio and resided there until 1853, when he came to this county and settled on his present estate. Owns a farm of 180 acres, valued at $25 per acre. He is a member of the Methodist Church. Has held the office of School Director and Pathmaster, and is one of the oldest settlers in the town and county.
