Wurtzer, John, farmer, Section 6 (Auburn township); PO Old Mission; born in Germany in 1824; came to this country in in 1854 and settled on his present estate, and is one of the early settlers of this town; has a farm of 182 acres, valued at $30 per acre. Married Mecklie Sporer in 1857; she was born in Germany in 1828; have one child living -- Anthony; lost three children -- Francis, Barbara and Margaret. The family are members of the Catholic Church.
