HARPER, WM., farmer; Secs. 23 and 26; born in Greene Co., Penn., Oct 28, 1822; in 1842 came to Ripley Co., Ind.; in 1850 came to West Union and settled on his present farm in 1856; owns 330 acres valued at $30 per acre. Married Elizabeth Cruzan Dec. 28, 1843; she was born in Ohio; had thirteen children, eleven living - Nancy J., Hannah, John, G. W., Mary E., C. B., J. T., W. H., Jos. R., Sarah C., and Charlie B. Are members of the M. E. Church. Has been School Director and Road Supervisor.
