FARMER BEATS ICE:
SKATES SEVEN MILES

WEST UNION, Jan. 26 – When Leo Fritz, farmer living near Hawkeye decided to go to town he was not balked by ice coated highways. Automobile traffic was treacherous today, horses stumbled and made slow progress so Fritz donned ice skates and in thirty-two minutes made the seven mile journey here.
