P.E. M'Clenahan
P.E. McClenahan, who was elected Superintendent of Public Instruction last November, is a native of Hawkeye and has spent all his life in Iowa, with the exception of two years which he spent in teaching in the college of agriculture in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Mr. McClenahan has had a broad educatonal training and experience. He is a graduate of the Iowa state teachers' college and of the Iowa state university. He began his work as rural school teacher in Washington county. Later he served as school principal and city superintendent. He has taught in state normal school, a state college of agriculture, and a state university. Mr. McClenahan was for six years the high school inspector for the Iowa state board of education.
