Sargent, J. E., farmer, Section 20 (Harlan township); PO Maynard; born in Meigs Co., Ohio, Sept. 19, 1849; came to this State in 1854, and settling in Delaware Co., where he remained up to 1875, when he came to this county. Married Laura Rich in this county, Dec. 13, 1875; his wife was born in Belvidere, Boone Co., Illinois, Feb. 1, 1856; their only child, May was born Jan. 16, 1877. Mr. Sargent and wife are members of the Church of Disciples.
