Bowdish, John; farmer, Section 13 (Oran township); PO Oelwein; was born in Otsego Co., NY, Jan. 1, 1815; located in Blackberry, Kane Co., Illinois, in 1858, and in this county in the Spring of 1871. He married Miranda Houghton in 1837; she was born in Milford, Otsego Co., NY; have five children --- Eunice A., born May 1, 1840; Harvey D., born August 21, 1842; Ann J., born Sept. 30, 1845; William J., born Oct. 7, 1855; Nelly May (in Illinois), born July 25, 1860. Greenbacker in politics. He has been President of the Board of School Directors three years. He owns 126 acres of land, worth $25 per acre. He has good improvements and a comfortable home.
