Wright, A. J., farmer, Section 16 (Oran township); PO Fairbanks; born in Clark Co., KY, in 1823; moved to Fountain Co., Indiana, in 1833, thence to Porter Co., Indiana in 1838; located in this county in 1853. He married Miss Maria B. Abbott in 1852; she was born in Fountain Co., Indiana, in 1825; they have seven children ---- Josephine, born Aug. 11, 1849; Laura I., born Aug. 21, 1853; Albert E., born July 6, 1856; DeForest, born Jan. 3, 1859; James H., born March 9, 1861; Elma M., born Aug. 7, 1864; Isabella, born April 9, 1869. Methodists. He has been School Director several terms; he has held every local office in the the township several times being in one or the other all the time. He owns 200 acres of land, worth $25 per acre.
