Services for Lillian G. Myers, 68, will be held Tuesday, August 28 at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor Richard A. Berger officiating. Burial will follow in the East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Myers died Saturday, August 25th at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City.Lillian Myers was born February 14th, 1922 in Superior to Paul and Margaret (Dewall) Wellnitz. She attended Superior High School and married M.J. Jack Myers on May 28, 1939 in Canton, South Dakota. Mrs. Myers lived all her life in the Estherville area and had been employed by the Good Samaritan Center since 1977.
Survivors include three sons: John D. Myers and wife Yvonne of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Joe L.Myers and wife Mary of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and Jim Myers of Estherville. Three daughters: Mrs. Dick (Sharon) Kelly, Mason City, Iowa; Mrs. J.C. (Sandy) Dawald, Northwood, Iowa; and Mrs. Dick (Janet) Sunde of Vermillion, South Dakota. She is also survived by two brothers: W.C. (Bill) Wellnitz, Estherville; Paul Wellnitz, Webb, Iowa; and two sisters, Johanna Petersagen, Watertown, South Dakota and Emma (Sammie) Fitzpatrick of Chicago, Illinois and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 27, 1990)
