Edith Mitts Services Set For Friday
Mrs. Roy C. (Edith) Mitts, 78, Estherville, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1972, at Holy Family Hospital. She had suffered a heart attack during the afternoon at Emmet County Bank.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Pearson officiating. Interment will be made in East Side Cemetery.

She was born April 30, 1894, at Slayton, Minn., to Alice and John Rippon. She received her education in Luverne, Minn., schools and business training at a business school in Omaha. She worked for a number of years in the Livestock National Bank at Sioux City, as well as in banks at Milford and Terril.

She was married to Roy C. Mitts at Slayton on Aug. 18, 1923. They farmed in the Terril vicinity until 1936 when they farmed in the Estherville are. In 1956 they retired and moved to Estherville. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy; one daughter, Mrs. Nicholas (Margene) Cross of Hayward, Calif.; one son, Carlyle of Estherville; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon on Thursday until noon Friday when the body will be taken to lie in state at the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 4, 1972)
