Estherville – Mrs. Gertrude Origer, 89, Estherville, died Saturday [March 5, 1977] at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Services for Mrs. Origer will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Christian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, until 9 a.m. Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Origer was born July 16, 1887, at Sabula, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Hansen. She attended the Estherville Business College and married Herman Origer on March 3, 1914. The couple farmed east of Estherville until moving to Estherville in 1948. She was a resident of the Good Samaritan Center at the time of her death.

She was a member of the Estherville Christian Church.

Mrs. Origer is survived by four sons, Francis Origer, Rochester, Minn., Vernon Origer, Estherville, Ralph Origer, Palatine, Ill., and Maurice Origer, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Carleton (Florence) Derneking, Hays, Kan.; 22 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Hansen, Dothan, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. Mayme Anshus, Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Alice Tilseth, Sun City, Ariz., and Mrs. Emma Lee, Edina, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 7, 1977)
