Heart Attack Fatal to M. J. Berg

M. J. (Marv) Berg, 49, lifetime resident of the Estherville area, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 4:15 yesterday afternoon [May 25, 1956] at his home.

Mr. Berg was born May 20, 1906 and lived his early childhood on a farm south of Estherville. He attended the local schools and high school at Fairmont, Minn.

He was married to LaVera Cresap, Jan. 1, 1945 at Atchison, Kans.

Mr. Berg had been employed at Rhodes Motor Co. for the last 20 years here in Estherville. He had been manager for seven years and part owner of the company for the past two years.

Survivors in addition to his widow include his mother, Mrs. Helen Berg of Estherville; two brothers, W. T. Berg of Estherville and Arthur of Fairmont; three sisters, Mrs. George Hackett of Estherville, Mrs. Chet Carlson of Rockwell City and Nina Berg of Los Angeles, Calif.; a step-son, Wilfred Aubry Cresap of Garden Grove, Calif., and two grandchildren, Vicki Lee and David Alan Cresap of Garden Grove, Calif.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Sternborg Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Thomas G. Melton officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery east of Wallingford. Friends may call at Sternborg's from tomorrow morning until time of services.
