Mrs. Larsen Was Native of Norway

Mrs. John C. Larsen died suddenly Friday morning, Jan. 8 [1954] at 4:30 a.m. at her home west of Wallingford at the age of 72. She had been in good health until the time of her death.

Services for Mrs. Larsen were held January 11, 1954 at 1:30 at the Sandin Funeral Honme and at 2 p.m. at the Wallingford Lutheran church with Pastor C. B. Gunderson officiating. Amos Egeland sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Rock of Ages."

Mrs. Larsen was born Greta Johanne Lavold in Flikka, Flekkiefjord, Norway, October 6, 1881. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Torkel Lavold. She came to New York City as a young woman and worked there for a few years, when she returned to her home in Norway for a visit. Upon her return to the United Statess she came to Maywood, Ill., where on September 19, 1909, she was united in marriage with John C. Larsen, by the late Rev. T. C. Thompson.

With her husband she came as a bride to a farm west of Wallingford where she lived until the time of her death.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in Norway and has been an active member of the Wallingford Lutheran church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother as well as her husband who died on January 19, 1945.

She is survived by three children, two sons, Lester and Trygve of Wallingford; one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Inga) Hubbard of Estherville; three grandsons and one grandaughter. three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Hanson and Mrs. Inga Nielson, both of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Gunda Vintland of Norway, and two brothers, John of Chicago and Theodore of Anna Marie, Fla.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Larsen were Sam Natterstad, Alvin Brinkman, Ernest Syverson, Ralph Schacherer, Chester Anderson and L. B. Schenck.
