PIONEER CITIZEN LAID TO REST HERE DURING PAST WEEK

Mrs. Henry Hansen passed away at her home on North Sixth Street last Monday evening [November 16, 1931] after a long illness. Before her marriage to Henry Hansen, a pioneer of this city, she was Miss Floy G. Horswell, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. J. R. Horswell, also pioneers of this city. Mrs. Hansen was born in Allerton February 27, 1879. When she was seventeen years of age she moved to this city with her parents and resided on a farm northwest of this city. She was married December 6, 1908, and resided on the Hansen farm near the new State Park until six years ago when the family moved to this city. Mrs. Hansen was an active member of the M. E. Church, a devoted wife and mother and a great lover of home.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and children, four boys and one girl, Donald, Richard, Robert, James and Lois; four brothers, Dr. U. M. Horswell, Wausaukee, Wis.; John S. Horswell, Harris; Joy R. Horswell, Estherville; Hugo W. Horswell, Burbank, Calif.

Prior to her recent illness, she underwent an operation at Iowa City from which she never recovered.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 o'clock at the house and 2:30 at the church, Rev. Winterstein officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
