Obituary

Ingeborg Dorthea Reierson was born at Neenak, Wisconsin April 20, 1861. At the age of seven years she came with her people to High Lake township in Emmet county.

As the oldest girl in a family of ten children the tasks she found for her willing hands to do. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and remained in faith throughout her lifetime.

On January 5, 1882 at the Reierson school, she married Gustav W. Gilbertson. Part of the first year of their married life was spent on a farm at Luverne, Minn. They then returned to Iowa residing in Dickinson county about five years. At this time they decided to make their home in Emmet county and in 1892 purchased the farm which has been their home ever since.

Five children entered the home circle, two sons, Henry and Arthur, and three daughters, Minnie, Ida, and Lillie.

Through the years Mrs. Gilbertson's cheerful, dauntless spirit was a source of comfort to those who loved her. Not her's was the habit of worrying. She always believed that somehow, sometime, matters would come out all right. She accepted her lot with faith and trust. Always the cheerful motto was hers, "We'll have to make the best of things."

In 1920, her daughter Ida Wolden passed away at the age of 29. Her husband, Gustav W. Gilbertson died in 1928. Since that time she has lived on her farm with her daughter Lillie.

Surviving are :Henry of Long Prairie, Minnesota; Arthur of Hinkley, Minnesota; Mrs. Minnie Olsen of Wallingford, and Miss Lillie Gilbertson at home; six grandchildren, Lyle, Viola, Vera and Clifford Gilbertson of Hinckley, Minn., Irene Olsen of Wallingford, and Vivian Gilbertson of Long Prairie, Minn.

Although she was often tired, her spirit never aged with the passing years. Friday, Oct. 22 at 10:20 in the morning the weary heart suddenly ceased to beat. She was not ill and suffered no pain and her life drew to a serene and peaceful end.
