EDWINSON: -- Mrs. Bertha Edwinson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Anderson of High Lake township, Monday, September 7 [1896]. The funeral service occurred at the home on Wednesday, conducted by Rev. Engh, and the remains were interred in the High Lake cemetery. The deceased was born in Norway, January 5, 1796. She was thus, at the time of her death,100 years, 8 months and 1 day old. She had been a widow nearly 60 years, her husband having died a number of years before she came to America to join her children three of whom had already emigrated from the native country. She has resided with her daughters in this country for forty-five years prior to her death. Four children survive her, all of whom are aged people.
