John H Widdel, son of Merwin and Vivian (Voight) Widdel, was born on February 24, 1950 in Ringsted, Iowa. He passed away at his home on February 24, 2022 at the age of 72 years.

John graduated from Ringsted High School and attended some college. In 1968, he joined the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged in 1971. He returned to Northwest Iowa and worked on road construction and as a welder.

John is survived by his brother Keith Widdel and his sister Nancy Kolaas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Linda Widdel and Richard Widdel.

As per John's request there will not be any formal services for him.
