Johnny Max Petersen was born on August 18, 1955 in Fort Riley, Kansas to Forrest and Hedwig (Huber) Petersen. He died on July 17, 2021 at his home in Estherville, Iowa.

He attended Aurora Central High School in Denver, Colorado before enrolling in trade school. Johnny worked as a painter for most of his life.

Johnny enlisted in the United States Army in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1975.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville. In his free time, Johnny enjoyed watching movies and going fishing. He was a great friend, who will be missed by many.

Johnny is survived by his significant other, Sheila Troxel, as well as many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest and Hedwig (Huber) Peterson and his brother, Robert F. Petersen.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
