Dorothy Evelyn (Hansgaard) Moore of Ringsted, Iowa passed away on May 12, 2021 at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 86 surrounded by her family.

Per Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, take a shopping trip to your favorite consignment shop or rummage sale or plant an extra flower in your garden, memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.

She was born on September 15, 1934 in Fairmont, Minnesota to Harvey and Lydia (Reinke) Hansgaard. Dorothy graduated from Fairmont High School in 1953. She married Dean Moore on September 17, 1960. Dean and Dorothy raised their children on the family farm near Ringsted.

She would rather be shopping consignment shops or rummage sales for that special or unique thing one of the grandchildren might or might not need. She never knew a stranger and could usually put a smile on their face.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Brenda) Moore, Steven (Renata) Moore, Lisa (Jim) Boyer and Jodi Moore; grandchildren, Jessica (Mikkel) Mortel, Jennifer Moore, Joe (Abby) Moore, Wesley (Stephanie) Moore, Courtney (Tom) Mancuso, Kayloni (Joe) Taylor, Bailee (Jason) Shupp, Rebecca Boyer, Elizabeth Boyer and Kevin Boyer; and eight great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews Carolyn Hansgaard, Doug (Jane) Hansgaard, Mitch Hansgaard, and Dawn (Larry) Petrowiak.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean Moore and her parents, Harvey and Lydia (Reinke) Hansgaard and her brother and sister-in-law Don and Donna Hansgaard.
