Dennis J. Denovchek was born on March 27, 1948, the son of Joseph and Mazie (Hamilton) Denovchek in Trumbull, Ohio. Dennis passed into eternity with his loving family at his side on Friday, January 8, 2021 at his home in Armstrong, Iowa at the age of 72 years.

He graduated from Champion High School in Warren, Ohio before attending Kent State University. Dennis enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He earned a Longevity Award, a National Defense Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation, a Republic of Vietnam Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross, Vietnam Service Award, and an Expert Marksmanship Medal. Dennis retired from General Motors.

He loved to be outdoors, he was a packer for Cabela's. He enjoyed spending the time taking customers camping and exploring the wilderness. In his free time, Dennis enjoyed hunting, riding his horses, boating and fishing. Dennis had a great love for his friends. He was a championship mussel loader and a member of the Single Action Shooting Society.

Dennis is survived by his children, Denny Jo (Shana) Denovchek and Gretchen Marino Finley; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary Ann Accettura, Richard (Alberta) Denovchek, and Carlotta (Jonathan Riskus) Denovchek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mazie (Hamilton) Denovchek.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Dennis will be buried at the Veteran's Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio at a later date.
