Janet L. McGregor was born on July 27, 1948 in Estherville, Iowa to Roy K. and Irene C. (Campney) Enerson. Janet passed away on January 1, 2021 at Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa at the age of 72 years.

Janet graduated from Estherville High School in 1967, and then attended business administration school in Omaha, NE. She worked at Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis for 2 years. On July 12, 1969 she was united in marriage to James Lee McGregor in Estherville. The couple made their home in rural Wallingford, Iowa for many years, where they raised two sons and farmed for over 40 years. She especially enjoyed when James retired and they were able to build the home of their dreams in 2009. Despite her long-term battle with Parkinson’s, after James passed in 2015, Janet was able to remain at home until 2019, because it had been built with wheelchair accessibility in mind and she had the irreplaceable help of her dear friend and neighbor Carol Pluth.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, South of Gruver, Iowa. Janet enjoyed watching game shows; her favorite was "The Price is Right." She also enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas Movies. A game of BINGO brought a smile to her face, as did sewing and other crafts. Janet also enjoyed travelling to the Black Hills.

Janet is survived by her sons Michael McGregor of Falls Church, Virginia and Mark McGregor of Dunnell, Minnesota; grandson Henry McGregor of Arlington, Virginia; siblings Ruby Harris of Estherville, Doris Rumpp of Urbandale,Iowwa, Edna Meyer of Lake City, Iowa, Arvin Enerson of Estherville, and Mary Carris of Perry, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her husband, James, her parents Roy and Irene Enerson, her brother Donald Enerson, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Verna McGregor, Jr.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Estherville with interment at High Lake Cemetery, Wallingford, Iowa.
