W. W. Wilson’s Sister Dies in North Carolina
Word was received here by W.W. Wilson yesterday of the death of his sister, Mrs. R.R. Patton of Badin, N.C., who passed away Tuesday [February 13, 1940] at 10 a.m.Funeral services will be tomorrow at Maryville, Tenn.
Mrs. Patton will be remembered by Estherville residents as Eva Mae Wilson. She was a pioneer resident of Estherville, coming here with her parents as a girl.
The Pattons visited last June at the Wilson home in Estherville.
Mrs. Patton had been suffering from heart trouble for some time and died from a heart attack. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 14, 1940)
Receives Word of Death of Sister
W.W. Wilson received word Tuesday of the death of his sister, Mrs. R.R. Patton, in Badin, North Carolina. Death was very sudden Tuesday morning and was caused by heart trouble. She had been taken sick the precedingThursday.Mrs. Patton will be remembered to Estherville friends as Miss Eva May Wilson. She was quite well known to local people as she was a frequent visitor in the Wilson home, her last visit here being made last June. The Wilsons had visited with the Pattons in their home in Baden about a year ago.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon in Maryville, Tennessee. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson will be unable to attend the funeral.
Besides her husband Mrs. Patton is survived by one daughter, Miss Ruth Patton, and her brothers and sisters. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 15, 1940)
