Mary Wickman
Boone – Mary Magdalen Wickman, 76, Statford Care Center, Statford, died Thursday, April 27 at the Boone County Hospital, Boone.

Services for Mrs. Wickman were held Monday, May 1, at the Sacred Heart Church, Boone, with the Rev. Thomas Nash officiating. Burial was in Linwood Park Cemetery.

She was born July 25, 1901 at Rodman to Nicholas and Lucy [Schumacher] Laubenthal, and lived several years in the Emmetsburg area.

Her survivors include three sons, George and Thomas Marnach, both of Otho, and Michael Marnach, Falls City, wash.; eight daughters, Mrs. Ivan (Norma) McCoy, Falls City, Wash., Mrs. Ben (Virginia) Walker, Boone, Mrs. Celestin (Darlene) Schutt, Laurens, Mrs. Bernadine Hopkins, Pico Rivera, Calif., Mrs. Roy (Mary Jean) Hinners, Cucamonga, Calif., Mrs. Walter (Agnes) Brinson, Laplace, La., Mrs. Mike (Lucy) Ellis, Anaheim, Calif., and Mrs. Larry (Bonnie) Hines, Orange Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. Albert (Genevieve) Schealler, Graettinger, Mrs. John (Clara) Nolan, Graettinger, Mrs. Edwin J. (Loretta) Olson, Estherville, Mrs. Tom (Eva Mae) Carrigan, Emmetsburg, and Mrs. Winfield (Gertrude) Lancaster, Darlington, Wisc.; four stepsons; two stepdaughters; 44 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Christian, one son, one daughter, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 3, 1978)
