1904-1979
Hardy – William Harold Pannell, 5, formerly of Emmet County, died Saturday at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge.

Services were conducted Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Hardy, with burial in the Vernon Township Cemetery near there. Lindhart Funeral Home, Humboldt, was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pannell was born in Emmet County on May 18, 1904, and attended school in Estherville. He married Edith Chambers in 1928 in Duluth, Minn. They lived in Goldfield for five years and then moved to Hardy, where he was a barber. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. He had formerly served on the Hardy City Council and was mayor at one time.

Survivors include his wife, Edith; one son, Harold Jr., Florrissant, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Alice) Halverson, Hardy; and Mrs. Arthur (Rachel) Petersen, Humboldt; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Humboldt; and Joe, Lemon Grove, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Bloomquist and Mrs. Dorothy Coon, both of Lu Verne, Calif.; and Mrs. Margaret Bliss, Ames.
