Armstrong – Lambert Herman Locker, 88, Armstrong, died Thursday [September 14, 1978] evening at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Services for Mr. Locker will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 18, at the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Armstrong, with the Rev. Don Sarff officiating. Interment will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.

Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Armstrong, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday and until the time of services Monday.

He was born to Herman and Frauke (Franzen) Locker May 15, 1890, at Flannigan [Flanagan], Ill. He received his education in the Flannigan schools and moved to Armstrong at the age of 16.

He was united in marriage with Eleanor Monson [Munson], Feb. 27, 1918, at Armstrong. He farmed all of his life in the Armstrong area, spending the last three and one-half years in nursing homes.

A member of the Nazareth Lutheran Church, he has served on the Armstrong School Board, the church council and the Emmet County Farm Bureau.

His survivors include his wife, Eleanor, Armstrong; one son, the Rev. Lambert Locker, Slidell, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Elaine) Liebrenz, Apple Valley, Minn.; and six grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, September 15, 1978)
