Graveside Rites Held
Armstrong – Graveside services were held Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. John York, 75, of Lake Creston [Preston], S.D. She was born Nov. 21, 1884 at Armstrong. She was the former Sadie Churchill and a twin sister of Mrs. Mina Gaarde. Mrs. Gaarde passed away in 1946. Survivors are a daughter Mrs. Kenneth Field, Hot Springs, S.D., a son: Dale of Golden, Colo., and granddaughter, Mrs. Darlen Williams, Wichita, Kans. Sisters are Mrs. Marie Troestler of Clarion, Lilian Reebel of Watertown, S.D. and Mrs. Adie Wilson of St. Paul. Attending the rites were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Field, Hot Springs, S.D.; Dale York, Golden, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. Don Williams, Wichita, Marie Troesler of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moran of Nevada, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Rown of Ringsted, Mrs. Bob Nielson, Halfa; Mrs. Fern Askland, an aunt of Mrs. John York. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 22, 1960)
